“Suppose a man has a hundred sheep and one of them strays…
I tell you solemnly, if he finds it, it gives him more joy
than do the ninety-nine that did not stray at all.” (Matthew 18:12-14).

Yesterday’s reflection has allowed us to meet God seeking something.
We find him again today… still searching –
this time like a shepherd who is missing one sheep.
Only one is missing but the number is not complete… because one is important as much as…
In fact, MORE, we are told, than ninety-nine!
This is not the usual mathematics, it is Jesus’ way of counting,
It is that of “your Father in heaven”, he tells us.
Each one is unique, precious, essential to his joy!
Each one, this is me… this is you… whoever you may be…
“If he finds it…”
Perhaps we need to allow him to find us…
