The daily news bulletin… the news repeat themselves, similar, tragic, distressing…
Incurable disease, road accident, lethal fire, murder, mass killing, war…
All these situations reveal the same factor at work… DEATH.
But we are NOT made for death!
We are not destined to be destroyed, suddenly, or after a long agony.
Our whole being rebels against such a perspective, we cannot accept such a fate.
This intuition of… rebellion is healthy, and it is based on something true, it bursts from something authentic hidden in the depths of ourselves.
It shows something that we have – mysteriously, perhaps – perceived, received… the revelation of the one who said:
“I am the resurrection.
If anyone believes in me, even though he dies he will live” (John 11:25).
Some will say: “A baseless claim.”
Others will think: “A pious wish.”
Many pretend: “What is dead is dead.”

May think silently: “This is the end…
While others dare to believe: “This is the beginning of something new, something completely other…”
Those who claim to be skeptical will pronounce: “One has to believe it…”
It is true! One has to believe it…
And the one who has dared to pronounce the words and make the promise can give us to believe them…
if we dare to ask for this gift… FAITH…
Trusting him who commits himself to us with such a promise…
This can be the source of a tremendous serenity…
