“The hour will come, in fact it is here already, when true worshippers will worship the Father
in spirit and truth: that is the kind of worshipper the Father seeks.” (John 4:23).
God seeking something… this is rather unusual…
Usually, we are the ones seeking something.
And what God is searching for is also out of the ordinary… it may puzzle us…
He wants to reach us, but possibly not where we think he would –
not necessarily at a place of worship, not according to the traditional rituals, not with the prescribed formulas…
“In spirit and truth…”
There where we are truly ourselves, at the heart of our being…
There where he lives since the beginning… perhaps without our being aware of it…
There where his Spirit fashions us ever more like himself…
“The hour… is here already”, Jesus claims.
This was his plan from the very beginning…
