The words of Jesus have an accent that is personal to him and which reaches us personally.
Some of his sayings have a touch that reaches our daily life but goes far beyond.
What he says can have an impact on our life… if we allow it!…
Today’s text has something… permanent about it.
Jesus says clearly, precisely:
« Know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time” (Matthew 28:20).
This is a categorical affirmation- nothing conditional, or restricted.
The presence of Jesus is not limited to sacred places, certain periods of worship, or certain situations that would be judged appropriate!
He wants to be – HE is – present with us, and for ever.
If only we knew how to recognize him… to accept him…
And… to be present to him in our turn!
Why have we so much trouble living this?…
