WORDS…
Words… words spoken, uttered, expressed…
Words written, copied, translated…
Words whispered, shouted, sung…
They reach us, surprise us, fascinate us…
They amaze us, shock us, sadden us…
They form us, transform us, leave us… indifferent.

But more than this, beyond these, there is THE Word –
this Word that we have been celebrating during the Christmas period,
the one of which it is said:
« The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).
We are now entering the period of Lent –
a privileged period enabling us to be attentive to this Word,
so as to receive, in a new way, its fascination and its revelation.
Every week, from Monday to Friday, this section ‘anglophones, anglophiles’ of our site www.image-i-nations.com will offer a short reflection on a word from the gospel.
When reading one or the other text of the gospel, we sometimes take time to look at some details of the scene and the reactions of the people present.
The information given awakens our interest, and the narrative retains our attention, perhaps to the detriment of… the words of Jesus.
In the presentations that you will find here, the focus will be precisely on Jesus’ words.
A short reflection will follow in the form of a few sentences which could eventually give rise to a longer personal meditation for those who so desire.
The same reflection, in French, will appear in the section ‘À bien y penser’.
WELCOME to each and everyone of you to this ‘pilgrimage’ on the way which is meant to be an opportunity for one and all!
Note: The reflections will follow on Thursday after Ash Wednesday, and they will continue until Wednesday of Holy Week.
During this period, the reflections on the texts of the Sundays of Lent will appear here on Saturday instead of Friday.
