During some of our celebrations, it happens that we recite what is known as the CREED.
It is a short summary of what we believe as Christians.
The Creed or ‘Credo’ as it is sometimes called, expresses the main ideas of our faith.
While there is one Creed, or summary of the faith, there are different versions of it.
But the themes contained in that text are not all that we believe.
Each Christian has his/her own convictions about some aspect, or other, of God’s revelation to us.
They express in a very personal way certain elements that inspire and guide us.

The 2nd reading today gives us one such conviction of Paul, the apostle (1 Corinthians 15:1-10).
He states it very clearly as he writes to the Corinthians:
“I am the least of the apostles… because I persecuted the church of God.
But by the grace of God, I am what I am…
The grace of God was with me”.
What an amazing recognition – of Paul himself, and of God’s action with and through him!
This is what could be called ‘his personal creed’ – a part of it, at least.
Perhaps, each one of us could identify what most characterizes his/her relationship with God.
We could search and specify – for ourselves – what is the most obvious aspect of OUR personal CREED!
This may become a source of inspiration and motivation for our day-to-day living…
